Summer Exchange Programme, City University of Hong Kong

About the Programme
The College has specially arranged a summer programme for exchange students to have hands-on experience in conducting scientific research under the supervision of a faculty member at CityUHK. Apart from gaining research experience, students will have the opportunity to participate in outside classroom activities, including industrial visits and cultural activities, to have a brief understanding of industrial establishments in Hong Kong as well as a taste of Chinese culture.
Highlights of the programme include:
- Research study experience
- Week 1: Literature review
- Weeks 2 – 8: Research work with faculty members and/or the delegates at CityUHK
- Various cultural and industrial visits
- Weeks 2 – 8: 1 - 2 visits per week

Eligibility
Minimum Entrance Requirements
Applicants must:
- be a full-time student at one of our partner universities for no less than one academic year.
- meet the minimum academic "good standing" requirement at their home university.
- be nominated by their university’s international office or unit concerned.
English Proficiency Requirements
Meet one of the following English requirements if English is NOT the medium of instruction at their home university:
- TOEFL 79 (internet-based test) or above; OR
- IELTS 6.5 or above; OR
- Chinese Mainland's College English Test (CET) Band 6 or above.
Exchange students joining the summer programme are exempt from tuition fees at CityU. The student residence fees for summer 2024 are shown below (for reference only):
Single room: HK$ 12,800/term
Double room: HK$ 6,400/term
有意申请的同学请在12月31日24点前发送下列材料至globex@pku.edu.cn，邮件主题请标注“姓名+2026 CityUHK Summer Program”，待完成学院内部选拔后，将于2026年1月9日前提名给香港城市大学，并通知最终入选学生于2026年2月15日前完成正式申请。

注：该暑期项目开始时间为2026年6月15日，第一周Literature review可向对方学校申请线上完成。本校停课复习考试时间为6月15日-27日，需提前安排好时间，不耽误期末考试。
